Jamb Result 2012 - The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has officially announced the release of the UTME result for the 2012 matriculation examination that took place on March 24.Some of the JAMB UTME result has been uploaded, while most of it is still being uploaded. Out of 3001 centres used for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination this year, results of 52 centres has been withheld, Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dibu Ojerinde has said.
Speaking while announcing the release of the 2012 UTME result in Abuja yesterday, he said the withheld results were still been verified by the board.
The centers include two in Abia, three in Benue, three in Delta, 24 in Rivers, 11 in Lagos and six in Imo.
He stressed that the centres are being investigated for various cases of examination malpractices.
A total of 1,503,931 candidates were registered for the 2012 UTME, which held across the country on March 24, making it the one with the highest number of registered candidates since the existence of JAMB.
Ojerinde said that Imo had the highest number of applicants with 123,865 candidates; Delta came second with 88,876 candidates while Anambra placed third with 84,204 candidates.
Conversely, FCT recorded the lowest number with 3,380 candidates, Sokoto placed next with 5, 664 candidates while 5,713 candidates sat from Zamfara.
He said the University of Lagos recorded the highest applicants with 83,865 candidates; Nnamdi Azikiwe University came second with 82,148 candidates while University of Benin came third with 80,048 candidates
